While fans had the wildest dreams of solving puzzles to reveal the vault tracks from Taylor Swift’s upcoming film 1989 (Taylor’s version) album, the pop star has finally revealed the bonus track titles and the album’s full tracklist.
Swift took to social media on Wednesday to share photos of the back of the album, writing in the caption, “It’s a new soundtrack. This is what the back covers and vault track titles are for 1989 (my version) I can’t wait for this one to come out, seriously. Thanks for playing along, exploring, puzzling, and making these revelations so chaotic (which is the best kind of fun, after all).
The titles of the surprising songs are ‘Is It Over Now?’, ‘Say Don’t Go’, ‘Now That We Don’t Talk’ and ‘Suburban Legends’. There will also be a fifth, and currently untitled, song 1989 (Taylor’s version) as well as a Target-exclusive issue yet to be announced.
Before the songs were released, the singer-songwriter decided to have some fun with her fans and teamed up with Google to turn the reveal into a game. On Tuesday, Swifties spent the day trying to solve a word puzzle that would appear in a blue vault on the screen when they searched for “Taylor Swift” on Google.
After solving millions of puzzles around the world and a few technical problemsGoogling wrote on X (formerly Twitter) Wednesday morning: “Swifties, we’ve come out of the woods!” They also shared a video of Swift’s voice revealing the correct answers to the vault track’s song titles.
Last month, Swift made the announcement during the sixth night of her Eras Tour shows at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. 1989 (Taylor’s version) would be her next re-recorded album from her music catalogue. The release is scheduled for October 27.
“Surprise!! 1989 (Taylor’s version) is on its way to you,” Swift wrote on social media at the time. “The 1989 album has changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with so much excitement to announce that my version of it will be released on October 27th. To be completely honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-recording I’ve ever done because the five From The Vault tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long!”
The re-recorded album follows the release of Fearless (Taylor’s version), Red (Taylor’s version) And Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).
