Patrick Mahomes stepped up to fill the void left by Taylor Swift on Saturday night when he sat alongside his wife Brittany to cheer on the Kansas City Royals against the Utah Royals.
Brittany and Patrick co-own the NSWL team, which plays at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City, the first purpose-built women’s soccer stadium in the world.
The Current shared a selfie of Brittany and Patrick together watching the game, wearing their teams’ hats and jerseys to cheer them on to a 1-0 victory.
This comes after Brittany sat away from Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, at the Chiefs game on Thursday night as they cheered on their respective partners.
Mahomes and Swift sat together at several Chiefs games last season as they cheered the team on to its second straight Super Bowl victory in two seasons.

But Mahomes recently went public with his support for Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election, a viewpoint that appears to be at odds with what Swift has said in the past.
It was reported earlier Saturday that Mahomes and Swift wanted “different vibes” while watching the Chiefs begin the NFL season, where they beat the Baltimore Ravens 27-20 at Arrowhead Stadium.
A source close to Mahomes told The Sun: ‘They are very good friends and were very excited to go to the game, but they had different plans, as sometimes happens.
‘Brittany is a family woman, and Taylor sometimes likes to enjoy the game as if it were a party.
‘They felt like they were in a different environment at the first game of the season. They spent time together before and after the game while waiting for Patrick and Travis.
‘But Brittany preferred to have the first game of the season played in a suite with family and children, in a more ‘low-key’ environment. Taylor wanted a more ‘party and drinks’ atmosphere for the game and to enjoy it in a different way.
‘There is absolutely no tension between them, they love and respect each other a lot, they just wanted a different atmosphere for the first home game of the season.’

Meanwhile, Travis and Taylor were in New York. On Saturday night they headed to a wedding reception at Electric Lady Studios in New York’s Greenwich Village.
Both Kelce and Mahomes have the weekend off for the Chiefs.
They don’t need to return until Tuesday, when the team prepares for next week’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
