A recent gig on Taylor Swift’s Eras tour took a chilling turn this week when her “possessed” piano started playing on its own during Sunday’s show.
The Princess of Pop, 33, looked particularly shocked when her keyboard started playing during Red (Taylor’s Version) as she shouted to the crowd, “I didn’t play that!”
As the piano continued to make sounds, a horrified Taylor covered her face and wondered if it was just her hearing it, asking the fans, “Oh my god, do you hear that?” Does this happen to you guys too?’
Despite the bizarre interlude in the show, there was a reasonable explanation for the “haunted” self-playing piano, as Taylor explained.
Taylor played an entire three-and-a-half-hour show at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., in the pouring rain earlier this week.
Oh my God! A recent gig on Taylor Swift’s Eras tour took a chilling turn this week when her ‘possessed’ piano started playing on its own during Sunday’s show
Taylor, who recently revealed he was dating 1975 singer Matty Healy, later told fans, “Okay, I’m just gonna do another guitar song, that’s crazy.”
She then explained that the piano would have malfunctioned due to water damage caused by rain.
Referring to the downpour, she said: “What happened is, long story short, I get to my acoustic set, you know when you’ve been in a bath for too long and your fingers are so sharp, like I was watching my fingers trying to play the guitar, and it was like I was in a bath for 2.5 hours of lukewarm water,’
‘Another thing that happened is that [the water] clearly broke my keyboard because [the keyboard] was literally underwater, so it’s broken.
“I didn’t know how the instruments worked last night. So it’s broken, I’m just going to get the guitar. It’s going to be good.’
After Sunday’s show, Taylor wrote on Twitter, “We’ve had rain shows at Gillette Stadium before but it was a complete downpour that never stopped, just want to thank this iconic crowd.”
Days after that show, Taylor canceled four shows for the first time in her career because she developed bronchitis.
And while Taylor appears to have made a full recovery, it appears her keyboard hasn’t.

Taylor finished Sunday’s show without any further issues called by the “deluge” of rain, much to the delight of her fans.
The Lover hitmaker showed her commitment to her tour during the first “rain show” when the rain on one of her dates in Nashville wouldn’t stop.
Taylor took the stage two hours late, starting her concert at 10 p.m. and playing until 1:30 a.m.
