Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas has refuted a report that Taylor Swift may have been asked to stay away from the Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade on Wednesday.
Citing reports of KCURhe New York Post published a story saying that City Manager Brian Platt had ‘hinted’ that the city couldn’t handle the fanfare she would bring if she decided to be there to support her boyfriend Travis Kelce.
“I can’t confirm or deny, but we may have already told his team, just to keep everyone safe and make things a little easier for us,” Platt said, according to KCUR.
However, Mayor Lucas has rejected that notion, emphatically calling it “not at all true” in response to the Post’s X story.
‘Just had a great chat with Chief Graves from @kcpolice. “We are thrilled to welcome everyone to tomorrow’s parade and the women and men of our police department are prepared to keep everyone safe,” Mayor Lucas wrote.

It’s unclear whether or not Swift will attend the show, as she kicks off a new leg of her Eras Tour on Friday in Melbourne.
He will play three shows there and another four in Sydney before heading to Singapore.
Swift was out late celebrating with Kelce and his Chiefs teammates after Kansas City beat the 49ers 25-22.
The pair were seen kissing at the victory party while their hit ‘Love Story’ played in the background, while Kelce also appeared in the DJ booth.
The three-time Super Bowl winner grabbed the microphone and yelled, “Come on, Chiefs,” while shaking his head.
He continued his role as MC as he warmed up the crowd, at one point leading them in a chant of ‘Na, na, na, na, hey, hey, goodbye!’ Although it is not clear who he was addressing.
Kelce and Swift continued the celebrations until dawn, eating chicken wings and fries in the VIP section until 5:15 am.
Swift and Kelce kissed after the tight end helped the Chiefs capture the championship.

With Swift watching, the Super Bowl averaged 123.4 million viewers on Sunday night, the most-watched television broadcast in history and the second-most-watched broadcast event in the United States behind the Apollo 11 moon landing.
The previous record belonged to last year’s Super Bowl, which attracted 115.1 million viewers on average.
CBS Sports announced the staggering numbers less than 24 hours after the Kansas City Chiefs lifted the Lombardi Trophy.
On CBS itself, 120 million people watched the game, the largest audience in history for a single network.
Incredibly, more than 200 million viewers watched at least part of the Super Bowl on every network and stream that carried the game.
