A Taylor Swift fan shared how she managed to get seats in the 10th row at the Eras Tour concert, claiming premium tickets about 30 rows closer than their original positions.
Attending Friday night’s show at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the Adelaide woman said she and her group of four originally had tickets “quite a ways back” in row P of section B1.
Sharing her experience under the TikTok name @ebboonnyy, she said a security guard told her they could sit in any unoccupied seat during the show.
“He told me, ‘If you find an empty seat in section A, take it.’ I won’t tell anyone like no one cares. “No one will check.”
His group ended up sitting in row seven during Sabrina Carpenter’s performance, when she opened the concert.

While the seats were originally claimed by ticket holders, he later discovered a completely empty section in ‘row nine or 10’.
He also told other Swifties to employ the same tactics.
“If you feel safe, go and take those damn seats,” he said.
‘Try your luck, do what you can. “Don’t stay where you are because it’s a missed opportunity.”
Despite his positive experience, he wondered why the highly sought-after seats remained empty.
“We ended up in a section that was $1,200 or $1,500, which is absolutely unrealistic and a little disgusting that there was a whole line so close when people were literally selling their souls and dying for these tickets,” he said.

One commenter theorized that the empty seats could have been purchased by ticket resellers who were unable to fill the spaces.
‘I think the empty seats could be tickets that were bought and not sold by scalpers. “I was in section M21 and there were like four empty seats right behind me and then eight empty seats in another row,” they said.
Another TikTok user said she had used a similar tactic.
—I went last night and it was on the floor in the back. She walked to the front and kept walking…three rows from the stage,” they shared.
Swift will play her final show in Melbourne on Sunday night, before heading out on her sold-out tour to Sydney for four shows from February 23-26.
