A Taylor Swift fan is on bad terms with her best friend after they have a serious disagreement over her choice of wedding song.

In a Reddit post, the woman explained that one of her close friends was having a Taylor Swift-themed wedding, which she was very excited about — until they got into a huge fight over something seemingly insignificant.

“During the ceremony she wants to play the song Lover, which is one of her favorite songs,” the friend explained in a post on the subreddit r/TrueSwifties.

“I understand that, but I’m trying to tell you that it would be insensitive to play Lover since Taylor specifically added it to her denial playlist and that would invalidate that,” they explained.

Although the bride argued that it was her wedding and she could play whatever she wanted, the couple continued to argue about it.

In a post on Reddit, the woman explained that one of her close friends is having a Taylor Swift-themed wedding, something that left her “beyond excited” until they got into a huge fight over a seemingly small thing.

“We had a fight about this yesterday and haven’t talked much since but I love her and I don’t want to miss her wedding,” her friend wrote. “Please share your thoughts as soon as possible.”

The “denial playlist” the user was referring to is a select list of playlists released in April, created by the pop star to stream on Apple Music.

The five playlists represent five different emotional components of a breakup.

Each contains some of Taylor’s past songs, including old hits like Bad Blood and We Are Never Getting Back Together.

The playlists are based, in fact, on Elisabeth Kübler-Ross’s famous five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.

Apple Music’s first playlist was called I Love You, It’s Ruining My Life and is filled with old Taylor Swift songs related to her time in denial.

Most of the comments on the post criticized the alleged friend for her strange attitude, assuring her that Taylor Swift won’t care if the girlfriend plays the song.

“Sorry, is this a serious post? First of all, it’s your friend’s wedding, not yours, so you can’t tell her what songs to use or not use,” one Reddit user commented.

“Secondly, you need to take a breath and move on from this weird parasocial relationship you have with Taylor. Insensitive? With Taylor Swift? Are you serious? I’m so baffled I have a hard time believing this is an actual post that a grown human being who has friends old enough to marry would make,” he added.

Another person agreed, writing: “Girl… I’m sure Taylor will be fine with it. Plus I’m pretty sure she won’t be at the wedding.”

“Oh my god, really? How can you not realize you’re acting crazy?” one Reddit user fumed, pointing out that this isn’t their wedding.

“If you really feel this strongly, then I suggest you skip the wedding, burn all bridges with this friend (and probably any mutual friends you have because I can’t see any rational person backing you up on this), and then check yourself into intensive therapy,” they recommended.

“I can tell you right now that by defending Taylor Swift, a celebrity who will never care about you on a personal level doesn’t care at all what songs of hers people play at weddings,” wrote another.

The user urged her friend to embrace her friend’s wedding and remember that she is just a Taylor Swift fan.

“She will never realize that you are fighting for her,” they noted. “Your friend is someone who is physically present in your life, is someone you have loved and vice versa, your friend’s feelings should always come before any parasocial fantasy you are living out.”
