Wed at first sight, bride-to-be Teela Winter let cameras into her Sydney hotel to film her at her most vulnerable just hours before Monday’s finale.
In an exclusive interview with Daily Mail Australia, the 27-year-old Hobart-based nurse opened up about her heartbreaking experience on the show, her alienation by her co-stars and the truth about the sexting scandal with Cam Woods.
Sitting on her hotel bed without make-up, Tila broke down when she revealed her struggles from a Sunday dinner party.
“I’m getting so cold because I’m so swollen from crying all night,” she said, sobbing.
This show, this experience… I just can’t do it. It’s cruel. My brain just didn’t feel right after that.
I am not an emotional person. I don’t fall apart. What they did is unreal. I don’t know how they can … ”
Producer-defying bride-to-be Tyla Winter is wed and allowed the cameras at her Sydney hotel to catch her in her best looks ahead of their reunion on Monday.
In an exclusive interview with Daily Mail Australia, the Hobart-based nurse, 27, explains her heartbreaking experience on the show, feeling isolated by her co-stars, and the truth about the sexting scandal with Cam Woods.
Faced with a potential confrontation at the reunion, Tila said she would apologize — though she didn’t know what she’d apologize for: “Everyone just says ‘Say sorry,’ so it can be brushed under the rug.”
“I just don’t know what story they’re going to go to…and if everyone is going to come for me about this stupid thing (the alleged scandal with Cam),” Tella visibly confided and battled a panic attack.
Tila described Cam as a supportive and kind friend during the show, and although they “get along very well”, she said that the geographical distance between them made a romantic relationship close to impossible.
Sitting on her hotel bed, makeup-free, crying her heart out hours before the rendezvous, Tila revealed her agony from the dinner party: “I’m snowing my face because I’m so bloated from crying all night.”

On her friendship with Cam:
Speaking about her friendship with Cam, Teela said she had nothing but praise for him.
He’s a really good guy. He has been so sweet to me throughout all of this and has been a great support system.
She explained that Cam’s encouragement helped her get through the show despite feeling isolated and intimidated by the other participants.

Speaking about her friendship with Cam, Tayla said she had nothing but praise for him: “He’s a really good guy.”
Featured moment with the camera that wasn’t televised:
Tayla said Cam was one of the few cast members to support her after she read a deeply personal letter at a dinner party, and that it didn’t make it to TV.
After that big moment at the dinner party, it was like this moment where I was looking at her the whole time I was shaking, my whole body was shaking and I just said, “I can’t do this, I can’t do this.” And he’d say, “No, you can.” ‘ Tella recalls.
He came over and gave me a cuddle and got me a chair and a glass of wine and made sure everyone kept calm. It was really amazing.
“I have plenty of time for him…. I’ve talked to all of his friends.” They’re all pretty and they’re blush-cheeks, just like they all are.
But Cam lives far away from me. I’m in Tassie and he’s in Darwin – so, you know, that kind of makes it pretty impossible for anything. But yeah, I will always be friends with Cam.

Speaking about the FaceTime incident, Teela explains that Cam’s actions were intended as a joke and she didn’t think it was bad, even though her co-worker Lyndall did.
Cam was in town and all his friends were kind of FaceTime me, he called me and said he hit it off at the club for all to see, not just me.
And there were a lot of people, it was a very brave move. dont care. But it was funny, I guess and I have the same kind of sense of humor – it was a little silly and I didn’t think it was bad, but Lyndall definitely did.
I don’t think boys actually care, at all. I think they thought it was funny too.
Speaking to the FaceTime incident, Teela explained that Cam’s actions were intended as a joke, and she didn’t think it was bad, even though her co-worker Lyndall did.
Teela talks about the future with Cam:
Tila remains optimistic about their future despite the challenges of living thousands of kilometers away.
“When there’s no one around and there are no cameras around,” she laughed, “it’s a lot easier to just be ourselves and have fun again and be stupid.”
The energetic MAFS bride gushed about their wild and boisterous personalities: “We both got really pissed off.” We both know how to party and have fun. So I think we’ll do that.
She then revealed her uncertainty about whether they would ever connect, adding, “I’m not sure about that.” But I mean, Cam is a handsome guy. Well, he’s my kind of guy.
Distance can be a challenge for the lovebirds, but Teila still holds out hope: “I think we’ve talked about things and the reality is we live far apart. I have to catch a couple of flights and then drive to the middle of nowhere to see Cam, and I just can’t do it.

The hardest thing about going to MAFS:
The hardest struggle for MAFS, Tayla said, was the manipulation and twisting of words, which made her feel unable to trust anyone.
This constant feeling of not knowing if I can trust anyone or say anything because they are going to be manipulated. She explained that this happened to me a lot.
It was as if it was completely taken out of context or the rumors weren’t going to start out of nothing at all. And it was hard because I felt like I couldn’t even figure out what I wanted to say half the time.
Despite her negative experience, she joked that her dream would be a sponsorship with Blundstone Australia.
In the interview, Tila also revealed that her TV husband, Hugo Armstrong, (pictured) has yet to apologize for abusing her during their time on the show.
