Police last week released CCTV footage showing what they believe to be a phone thrown out of the 34-year-old’s apartment just before midnight on May 26.
The phone was never found, with detectives urging anyone who may have found the device on the streets of Norfolk or Bathurst to come forward.
Detectives traveled to Canada earlier this month to meet Ms Dokhotaru’s family and will continue to investigate her life and that of her associates in Australia.
A separate critical incident investigation is continuing into all other circumstances surrounding the incident.
Ms. Dokhotaru was the mother of a four-year-old child.
