Canadian superstar Tate McRae opened up about her relationship with Australian singer The Kid Laroi.
The 21-year-old global hitmakers are currently in Australia on their respective world tours, and Laroi will also perform at the NRL grand final in his native Sydney on Sunday.
Speaking to KIIS Network’s Will & Woody on Monday, Tate shared details about her blossoming relationship with the Australian superstar.
Radio hosts asked the Greedy singer how she felt about playing music with her boyfriend.
‘He definitely did (get nervous). “Like when I said ‘Laroi,’ I looked at him and he was pale, like I’d just seen a ghost,” he said.
Tate has been on her Think Later tour, named after her second album, for most of the year.
During his sold-out performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden in August, Tate asked The Kid Laroi to perform a duet of his song Without You at the iconic venue.
“He’s performed on the biggest stages and with the craziest people, and he walks on my stage, and he literally looked like he wanted to cry,” Tate said.

‘It’s a lot like… whatever. He’s a rapper. So walk around.
Halfway through the performance, the You Broke Me First singer said The Kid Laroi caught her off guard by improvising.
“He grabs my hand and lifts me up,” Tate continued.
She explained what was going through her mind at that moment: ‘Don’t pick me up now! We don’t practice this.’
“Like I was sitting here trying to do my job and I was like, ‘Oh my God,’ and it was fun.”
And at the end he begins to make a great speech. He says, “I’m so proud of you.” All this. And then he pauses. I totally thought I was done talking!’
And I said, “Leave it for Kid Laroi!” I completely interrupted him.’
Speaking to KIIS Network’s Will & Woody on Monday, Tate shared details about her blossoming relationship with the Australian superstar.
Radio hosts Woody and Allen revealed to Tate that they had asked The Kid Laroi the same question during a recent interview with the Stay singer.
‘It’s (the) sweetest thing, like someone is sharing their stage with you, right?’ said.
“I think one of the most beautiful things you can do is share the stage and platform with someone you love.
“It’s really cool and it was a great souvenir too… It’s definitely not like asking to go shopping for kitchen utensils.”
The GIRLS singer also admitted that joining his pop star girlfriend on stage was “the most nervous” he’s ever been.
“(It was) one of the most nervous moments I’ve ever been on stage, like I don’t want to ruin this.”

After months of speculation that the musical duo were in a relationship, The Kid Laroi made things official with the Canadian star during one of his own shows earlier this year.
He confirmed the relationship to fans during a concert in Ireland on April 14.
The moment came between songs while Laroi was on stage.
He told the crowd at Dublin’s 3Arena: “I need everyone here to sing this as loud as they can because my girlfriend is here tonight and I don’t want to look stupid.”
Fan cameras then panned to stage left and showed Tate laughing as he watched the show.
“If they don’t sing this really loud…” added the Sydney star, “it’s going to embarrass me.”
