As the first live show of Strictly Come Dancing this year approaches, Tasha Ghouri is feeling the excitement.

On Wednesday, the 26-year-old model shared a video of herself and her professional dance partner, Aljaz Skorjanec, 34, in their penultimate rehearsal before performing live on television.

“Long live Team Altash!” Tasha said in the video. “I’m so excited for Saturday. It’s going to be amazing.”

The couple will perform their first dance of the new series together on Saturday night alongside fifteen other competing couples.

“Tomorrow is the last day of rehearsals before we’re in the studio on Friday. These two weeks are flying by, but we can’t wait to be in that studio,” Tasha wrote.

During a break between rehearsals, Tasha’s boyfriend, Andrew Le Page, 29, came to visit her to support her.

Aljaz’s wife and former Strictly professional dancer Janette Manrara, 40, also came along with their baby Lyra.

Tasha shared a photo of herself holding Lyra and giving her a hug.

The model, who uses a cochlear implant, is the second deaf contestant on the show after Rose Ayling-Ellis, who won with her partner Giovanni Pernice in 2021.

Pernice will not be returning as a professional this year following allegations of harassment leveled against him by his celebrity partner for the 2023 series, Amanda Abington. Pernice denies the allegations.

Tasha met Andrew on the eighth series of the hit dating reality show Love Island in 2022, where they came fourth.

In February, the couple became homeowners and are documenting their home renovation on Instagram.

Aljaz and Janette met in 2010 while performing on the live dance show Burn The Floor.

“I was attracted to Janette as soon as we met. I think it was because she was so difficult to approach, which triggered something that made me try even harder,” Aljaz told the BBC.

They tied the knot in 2017 in three beautiful wedding ceremonies, held in London, Slovenia and Miami.

Lyra was born on 28 July 2023 at Portland Hospital in London, weighing 3.2kg.
