Under-fire retailer Target has funded a radical education group that is pushing for woke school policies despite severe backlash for the release of its LGBTQ Pride product.
The brand says it’s ‘proud’ of its collaboration with K-12 education group GLSEN, which is lobbying school boards to allow children to secretly transition without parental consent and make books available sexually explicit in the classroom.
It also provides instructions for teachers on how they can modify lessons such as math and science to be “more inclusive of trans and non-binary identities”, including using “they/them” pronouns in lesson plans, reports. FoxNews.
“GLSEN is leading the movement in creating affirming…and anti-racist spaces for LGBTQIA+ students,” Target said. “We are proud of over 10 years of working with GLSEN and continue to support their mission.”
Target lost billions in market value after recently launching its annual Pride marketing campaign

The retailer has come under fire for offering ‘tuck-friendly’ options in women’s swimwear
Target lost billions in market value after launching its annual Pride marketing campaign, which included a controversial line of ‘tuck friendly’ women’s swimwear.
And the company’s close ties to GLSEN have since come to light amid the backlash Target reportedly paid more than $2.1 million to the group over the years.
Among the policies advocated by the body are recommendations for teachers to intervene if students are taught about sex and gender, to ensure it aligns with the group’s ideology.
“When students create their own surveys, if they want to include data on biological sex, teachers should ensure that they include both intersex and other as choices,” the group says in a lesson plan.
“And if students want to include gender data, a variety of choices should be included, such as agender, genderfluid, female, male, nonbinary, transman, transwoman, and other.”
One of the group’s fundamental policies is to support young trans people in their transition, even without the consent of their parents.
School districts’ policy on the matter is to keep all “medical information relating to transgender and non-binary students” confidential, extending beyond the classroom to include “parents or guardians.”
GLSEN did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Target has been criticized for the Pride marketing campaign, which also included woke children’s books

Target reportedly gave GLSEN more than $2.1 million to support its lobbying efforts
Target’s support for the group comes as its CEO, Brian Cornell, has defended the controversial Pride Month marketing campaign.
“When we think about the goal at Target, it’s really about helping all families, and that ‘everything’ word is really important,” he said on Fortune’s Leadership Next Podcast.
“Most American stores at Target, so we want to do what it takes to support families across the country.
“I think these are just good business decisions, and it’s the right thing for the company, and it’s the right thing for our brand.”
