Shoppers reluctant to shell out hundreds of dollars for designer dresses have discovered what they believe is an affordable alternative at Target.

One mom couldn’t believe her eyes when she spotted a stunning pink ruffled dress for just $70, after spending $495 on a similar style from Aje.

‘I just got to Target. Please tell me why do you have the dress that I bought from Aje for $500? He literally looks exactly like my Aje,’ he said in disbelief.

‘It’s only $70. I paid about $500. Obviously the dresses are a little different but come on. The quality and material are very different, but they are still a good dupe. Go to the target.’

Both pastel pink dresses have similar features, including the V-neckline, ruffles, and adjustable straps.

However, the styles are different side by side.

Target’s dress, which features an off-the-shoulder sleeve design, accentuates the waist, while Aje’s version has layers of ruffles, giving it a flowy look.

Despite the huge price difference, many fashion lovers pointed out that Aje, an Australian luxury fashion brand known for its unique pieces made from high-quality materials, offers features that the cheaper version does not have.

‘I have both dresses and I can assure you that the Aje is prettier. “However, I’ve gotten just as many compliments on Target’s cheaper option,” one shared.

“If it makes you feel better, they are significantly different and I think yours is worth the extra price,” another told the mother.

“Yours is much better, you can’t compare it in quality,” one explained.

“You’re paying $500 for better fabric, better quality control, and better fit, but also for a brand,” another added.

However, many shoppers insisted that the Target dress was a great alternative for those who can’t afford to spend hundreds of dollars on designer brands.

“The one at Target looks better,” said one.

“Target is so much nicer – everyone in Australia wears Aje… I don’t get it,” added another, laughing.

“The silhouette of the Target dress looks so much prettier paired with the ruffles,” one noted.

Meanwhile, many bargain hunters expressed their love for Target, with one saying she now only wears the department store’s stylish pieces.

“My wardrobe now is mostly Target, it’s worth every penny and the quality tends to be great too,” said one.

“Target has been really good with clothes lately,” praised another.
