A well-known Comancheros biker known for his love of designer brands will move to Melbourne if he is released from jail later this year.
The gang’s former national sergeant-at-arms, Tarek Zahed, has spent the past two years behind bars after pleading guilty to destroying evidence in the execution of family friend Youssef Assoum in Sydney’s southwest in 2014.
He was originally charged with murdering Assoum, along with his brother Abdul.
But a last-minute twist on the eve of Zahed’s trial in 2022: The murder charges were dropped after he and his brother Abdul reached a plea deal.
Tarek, nicknamed “Balenciaga Bikie” and “Gucci Gangster,” pleaded guilty to lesser charges of hindering the discovery of evidence related to the cleanup and ordering the destruction of Assoum’s car.
He was sentenced to three years and one year in prison, with a non-parole period of two years and four months.
Tarek Zahed will be eligible for release on 27 December after serving his sentence.
If released, Zahed reportedly hopes to move to another state and rejoin his Comanchero associates in Melbourne.

He has strong connections in Melbourne and would face less stringent restrictions from authorities, underworld sources told the Herald of the Sun.
Zahred, a former Comancheros national sergeant-at-arms, was once seen as a potential successor to Mick Murray as national president before Allan Meehan got the job.
In May 2022, Zahed was shot 10 times outside a gym in Auburn, in Sydney’s west.
His brother Omar, 39, died after being shot multiple times in the arms, stomach and legs, while Zahed was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.
He survived the attack but suffered significant injuries, including the loss of an eye.
At the time, a source said he had “completely lost vision in his right eye,” leaving him virtually blind as he had reduced vision in his left eye.
“He had an incident years ago which means the vision in his left eye is only 20 to 30 percent,” the source said.
‘So, since he’s probably now blind in his right eye, he’ll be almost completely unable to see.’

Three months later, in August 2022, Zahed was first seen at a dinner with then Comanchero national president Meehan and other associates, dressed in designer clothes and jewellery at a Melbourne restaurant.
Despite being shot 10 times, there were no visible scars on the face of the tough, biker-riding man in the photo.
Less than a week later, police dramatically arrested Zahed in Sydney’s east for his involvement in the clandestine murder of Assoum in Bankstown in Sydney’s southwest in December 2014.
Officers in tactical gear stormed a busy street in Edgecliff and arrested the national sergeant-at-arms of the illegal motorcycle club.
Several rubber bullets were fired at his black BMW and several large holes were seen in the partially shattered rear windows.
Zahed was seen sitting on the road next to his damaged BMW hatchback, dazed and with blood dripping down his face as police spoke to him.
