Taran Killam stepped down from his role in the off-Broadway production of Urinetown after losing his Pacific Palisades home in the devastating Los Angeles fires.

On Friday, New York City Center posted a message explaining to ticket holders that the 42-year-old was leaving the show because he “could no longer participate.”

Killam’s departure from the production comes just over a week since he and his wife Colbie Smulders, 42, lost their $5.6 million residence in the Palisades Fire.

The Culver City, California native and How I Met Your Mother alum, who married in 2012, purchased the home in 2017 and spent more than a year modernizing his expensive abode.

As DailyMail.com previously reported, the fire started on the side of the house and within minutes engulfed the entire property, despite firefighters’ efforts to contain the blaze.

The house had five impressive bedrooms and six bathrooms.

In a 2018 interview with Architectural Digest, Smulders revealed that the solar panels were his biggest splurge for the house, noting that he added a 40-year-old photo booth.

Despite losing their home, the couple, who share two daughters, Shaelyn, 15, and Janita, 10, are proactive in sharing resources through social media for other Angelenos who have been victims of the tragic events. .

Paris Hilton, Anthony Hopkins, John Goodman, Miles Teller, Billy Crystal, Mandy Moore and Jen Atkin are among those whose homes have been destroyed by the inferno.

The Palisades Fire is at 39% containment and the Eaton Fire in Altadena/Pasadena is at 65% containment as of Friday night, according to CalFire.
