Swayze died at age 57 in 2009 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was married to Niemi, 67, from 1975 until her death.
In 2014 she remarried and married Albert DePrisco, but said she faced criticism from “rabid” Swayze fans.
On the April 8 episode of the Amy and TJ Podcast, she said, “It’s like, ‘How dare you?'” There are some pretty rabid Patrick fans who think I’m evil, but they don’t like me because I was married to him. .
“There was a lot of criticism, a lot of criticism, and you learn to deal with it and move on. But many times I was tempted to say, “Hey, girlfriend, put yourself in my shoes, tell me. Go ahead and tell me that just because I lost my husband I don’t love him anymore.”
