Former Tottenham Hotspur player Tanguy Ndombele has signed for a new club after ending his contract with Spurs last month.

The talented midfielder has agreed to end his relationship with his parent club, despite having one year left on his contract.

It marks the end of a disappointing run with Spurs, and potentially a chance to revive his faltering career.

Ndombele has signed for French club Nice after spending last season on loan at Turkish champions Galatasaray.

In Nice, he will be looking to recapture the form he displayed for his former club Lyon, which originally put him on the radar of Europe’s elite in 2017.

He made 19 appearances for Galatasaray last season but still failed to make a serious impact at the Super Lig club, often facing criticism over his fitness and weight.

He has since posted an emotional message to the club’s fans on his Instagram, saying: ‘Thank you to the directors, staff and teammates for this adventure that led us to the championship title.

The 27-year-old will reunite with former sporting director Florian Maurice, whom he knows from their time together at Lyon.

He last played for Tottenham in their FA Cup third round tie with Morecambe on 9 January 2022 and was booed off the pitch.

Ndombele won the Italian league with Napoli in the 2022-23 campaign before moving to Galatasaray.
