The Naturally Tan author shared his desire to expand his family on The Drunk Milk Podcast on Thursday, saying that he and his husband really wanted to give their son a sibling close in age.
We wanted him to have someone who would be someone to relate to. I’m really close to my siblings and my husband is really close to him, so we wanted to create a family where she (our child) would have more support than just Rob and me.
“We’re so excited that Ishmael will have a sibling, but the most exciting part is that he’ll have someone to hope for the rest of his life so he can call his own,” Tan added.
And the Next in Fashion host admitted that while he and Rob are very excited about expecting their second child, their young son has no idea what’s going on.
All he knows is that there is a car outside with his name on it. As soon as he wakes up, the first word is “car”, and the second word is “car”. So, it doesn’t matter what we’re trying to explain to him, what we’re trying to show him, his only word is ‘car,’ he shared with the outlet.
The couple already knows the gender and name of their next child – but they haven’t shared it yet.
I’ve always known these two names that I liked the most. And luckily, Rob loves them, too. “We are on track to call our baby by that name.”

He added, “The only thing different is that she’s off the case, so we can’t see her in real life as much, but we do see her on FaceTime or Zoom.” “We text regularly, and so it was great.”

Tan explained how he was attacked by a gang of men on his way to school because he is Pakistani.
I used to wake up thinking, “What trouble is my skin going to get me into today?” It was about survival. The ability to return home without being attacked.
“I just thought, ‘I need to find a way to date, get a job, maybe get married,'” he revealed.
And now he has everything he could ever want and a new baby on the way.
