Speaking of the town: No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to do two thighs… Daniel Craig’s 12-hour secret tasks to get back in shape before his 007 end
It’s been nearly 13 years since Daniel Craig let millions of women into paradise by stepping out of the ocean in Casino Royale in a short swimsuit. And now I can reveal that the Bond star is doing his best to give fans an orange body to swoon over one last time.
As filming begins tomorrow for what’s expected to be his last outing as a cool spy, my sources tell me Craig, 51, is determined to look as good as he did in that iconic beach scene. He’s been struggling with a grueling diet and fitness regimen that culminated in an incredible 12-hour workout sessions last week.
Sources on the set say Craig — who became a father last year for the second time when his wife Rachel Weisz gave birth to a daughter — has been taking his fitness incredibly seriously. They are amazed at the work he does to get himself in shape for one of the most highly anticipated roles of his career.
Daniel Craig, who first appeared as James Bond 14 years ago, had a grueling diet and fitness regimen that culminated in an incredible 12-hour workout sessions last week.
One said: “Daniel is about 14 years older than he was when he first played 007, so it will be more challenging physically.
Being Bond takes a lot of energy and he’s determined to make sure he’s ready for it. It’s an action movie and he wants to do his best. Everyone expects him to look amazing when he puts on this bodysuit for the last time.
It is understood that Craig has penetrated the secret location where the sets are being built. The film, which is scheduled for release next year, suffered a series of setbacks. Director Danny Boyle quit last summer due to “creative differences” with Craig, producer Barbara Broccoli and screenwriter Michael G. Wilson. Craig also requested that filming be postponed so he could star in another movie, Knives Out.
Meanwhile, I can also reveal that Bodyguard’s heartthrob Richard Madden – the current favorite to replace Craig – has a serious contender for the role.

Daniel Craig moved to a secret location to begin filming the movie
Fellow Scott Sam Heughan, 38, got a call from producers asking him to audition as Broccoli prepares for a new era of the movie franchise.
Sam is best known for his role as Jamie Fraser in the Amazon TV series Outlander. Like Madden, 32, he fits the law of being Scottish and in his 30s — two factors that top franchise bosses want.
“It’s been 36 years since Sean Connery’s Scottish League, and the producers are looking for someone to emulate that success,” says one source.
“Sam is an experienced actor, he’s in good shape and he has a cheeky side which is attractive because bosses want Bond to get more.”
Sam was even in the frame to take over from Pierce Brosnan when he quit in 2002 but he was considered too young.
