Date:

The backlash towards Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard continues with several regulators making their decisions in the process, with many publishers now making their opinions known about the deal, including TakeTwo. By confirming its CEO’s support for the acquisition today in a recent interview.

When asked about his thoughts on the deal, CEO Strauss Zelnick said Take-Two has supported the deal for some time, noting that it would be a positive for Microsoft as a partner, and continued, “What’s good for them is also good for the industry.”

Strauss Zelnick reiterated previous comments he made about the cloud gaming market in an interview with Microsoft IGN, saying that cloud games are a distribution method, not a separate business, and although new distribution methods such as cloud games may expand the game market, they are still an essential part of the larger game market. On the other hand, he supported Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision.

Previously, EA CEO Andrew Wilson said closing or terminating the deal is “not really material” to his company. Other companies such as Nvidia have expressed their support through the 10-year deal with Microsoft to get access to Call of Duty, although Sony remains vehemently opposed.

We remind you that the European Commission had approved the deal as we talked about here, with a total rejection by the British Commission CMA. Do you think the deal will be completed?
