An elderly man has died after losing control of the all-terrain vehicle he was riding in and rolling it on a rural property on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast hinterland.
The man in his 70s was driving the ATV on his private property in Witta around 6.40pm on Monday when it crashed.
The deceased man died at the scene, despite desperate attempts by paramedics to revive him.
No one else was injured in the incident and the Forensic Accident Unit is investigating the rollover.
Police have declared the incident non-suspicious and will prepare a report for the coroner.

Witta is a small rural town 105 kilometers north of Brisbane with a population of almost 1,300.
It is the second off-road vehicle death in southeast Queensland in recent weeks.
Gage Fowler, 16, died in a late-night rollover south of Toowoomba in March.
Three months earlier, a 44-year-old man died when his quad bike overturned in neighboring Kingsthorpe.
Another man died after a quad bike rolled in the Lake Macquarie region of New South Wales earlier this month.
More than 180 lives have been lost in quad bike-related incidents in Australia over an eight-year period between January 2011 and March 2023.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission pushed for stricter rules in 2018 due to the high number of off-road vehicle deaths.
New safety regulations were introduced in 2019 in a bid to reduce injuries and deaths.
In 2022, more than 90 percent of all new quads sold in Australia were found to meet the national safety standard.
