This is the incredible moment in which Ivan Ortola, Moto3 Americas GP rider, got on the WRONG bike after a brutal crash with his rival Stefano Nepa in Texas.

The racing rivals were facing off at Circuit of the Americas, home of Formula 1’s United States Grand Prix, when they became unstuck and crashed into each other at Turn 15.

Fortunately, both men quickly got to their feet, but Nepa was surprised to see his rival running towards the wrong bike.

Instead of getting on his MT Helmets (MSi bike), Ortola ran straight to Nepa’s MTA Level Up bike, which happened to be the team he previously competed for.

In the midst of the madness of the crash and the speed with which he tried to rejoin the action, Ortola, 19, seemed to forget that he had changed teams.

In a crazy turn of events, Nepa has to knock her rival off his bike, before Ortola realizes his mistake and has to backtrack into his own vehicle.

It ended up being a day to forget for Ortola, who crashed again and failed to finish the race, while Nepa finished 18th.

Fans quickly took to social media to react to the crazy moment, with one writing: “Bro forgot he changed teams this year.”

Ortola had won races before, but Sunday ended with a retirement and it was something unforgettable for the Spaniard.

At the other end of the classification, David Alonso, of the CFMoto Valresa Aspar Team, finished 1st overall, scoring 25 points in the championship.

The Colombian started from pole and finished on top of the podium after dominating the 14-lap race.
