Cricket great Steve Smith has pocketed a stunning $2.75 million profit after finally selling his pad in Sydney’s eastern suburbs for $6.75 million.

Smith, 34, was originally seeking more than $7 million for the four-bedroom, three-bathroom Brontë property that had been on the market since last October.

He bought the original California bungalow in 2019 for $3.505 million and then spent $495,000 on a massive renovation that included adding a second level, bathrooms and a fourth bedroom.

Smith canceled two scheduled auctions in hopes of getting his original price before lowering the sales guide to $6.5 million. The Daily Telegraph.

Located just 9km from the CBD and just blocks from Brontë Beach, the new design has turned the mid-20th century original into an elegant, ultra-modern resort-style home.

There is also a covered outdoor entertaining terrace or barbecue area, a limestone terrace and a heated outdoor shower.

Other highlights include an oversized kitchen with breakfast island, marble countertops, and induction cooktop.

Meanwhile, the second floor master bedroom features a private balcony offering stunning ocean views.

According to property records, Smith’s sale is well above the neighborhood’s $5.8 million median.

Aside from his achievements as a record-breaking first-class cricket champion, Smith and his wife Dani Willis are known for their interest in real estate.

Last year, the couple sold an incredible property in the prestigious Sydney suburb of Vaucluse.

The couple got a whopping $12.38 million for the four-bedroom, three-bathroom home after the Smiths spent money on a massive renovation.

The sale came after the couple bought it for $6.5 million in 2020.
