Leader SV Elversberg is clearly on course for promotion in the 3rd league.
Coach Horst Steffen’s team defeated Viktoria Köln 3-2 (2-1) and extended their lead over Dynamo Dresden to ten points on the relegation zone.
Elversberg also played one game less. Third-placed SC Freiburg II may not be promoted.
The hosts got off to a false start and quickly fell behind after a goal by Robin Meißner (2nd). Jannik Rochelt (12th) and Bremen loanee Nick Woltemade (45th) turned the game around with their goals before the break. Marcel Correia (55th) increased after the change, Cologne shortened by Seokju Hong (90th + 4) in added time.
