T-Mobile suffers nationwide outage as thousands report no signal

Many Americans are experiencing issues with T-Mobile service on Wednesday, with thousands reporting complaints from 2:30 p.m. ET and into the early hours of the night.

Thousands of Americans across the United States reported drops in their T-Mobile cell phone service on Wednesday, with as many as 3,767 complaints received as of 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time.

Major metropolitan areas in the United States, including Washington DC, New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, Boston and Minneapolis, appear to have been hardest hit by the outage.

Thousands of people began reporting complaints from 2:30 p.m. ET into the early evening, according to the Down Detector site, and signal strength appeared to return in some areas by 5:30 p.m. ET. .

While T-Mobile has yet to issue an explanation for the outage, the company’s social media presence, @TMobileHelp on X, has been responding to public complaints asking customers to move their conversations to ‘direct messages’ (DM).

“I’ll check your area and find out why your service isn’t working and work to get you connected as quickly as possible,” a typical message from @TMobileHelp read.

“Please DM me your exact address so we can work together on a resolution to ensure you have service.”

According fall detectorThe majority of user complaints (60 percent) focused on problems with mobile phone service and the rest were divided between “signal” problems (23 percent) and access to the “mobile Internet” services of the supplier (17 percent).

Regardless of the root cause of the outage, speculation was rife on social media, with some attributing the episode to recent geopolitical tensions and natural disasters around the world.

“To be honest, I think it might have to do with global issues,” said one user of Elon Musk’s X platform. “Because a lot happened in the last few days between Xbox psn Verizon and T-Mobile.”

“Something’s not right,” said the user, who calls himself ‘DEION aka Hogwarts is my home’ @Mr_too_soon in X.
