SZA revealed the release date for her highly anticipated second album while appearing as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live.

The 33-year-old singer, after performing her new single Shirt, showed a message on a screen behind her that her second album titled SOS will be released on December 9.

SZA, real name Solána Imani Rowe, recently shared the cover of her new album in which she recreated one of the last photos of Princess Diana.

She also shared the album’s Saturday release date on Instagram, along with album footage and a clip of her song Blind.

SZA also played Blind on SNL with string accompaniment and a smoky stage.

SOS is the follow up to SZA’s debut studio album Ctrl which was released in June 2017 to critical acclaim.

Ctrl debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200 albums chart and was ranked by Time as the best album of 2017.

SZA collaborated with Maroon 5 on their 2017 single What Lovers Do, which reached number nine on the Billboard Hot 100.

She also featured on the Kenrick Lamar song All The Stars, the lead single from the soundtrack to Marvel’s 2018 film Black Panther.

SZA was featured on the 2021 Doja Cat song Kiss Me More and they won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
