Sydney’s richest families gathered at a celebrity hotspot in Coogee on Thursday, amid hundreds of mysterious “tar balls” that appeared on the famous beach, to witness the nuptials of a fashion entrepreneur.
Stylist and brand consultant Caroline Tran married her fiancé James Stuz in an elegant beachside ceremony that blended the worlds of ancient aristocracy and modern celebrity at her Mimi’s reception.
The luxurious beachside restaurant, owned by billionaire pub baron Justin Hemmes, has seen more than its share of romantic trysts among Harbor City’s elite.
The exclusive venue at Coogee Pavilion has become the favorite place for celebrities to launch their new relationships.
The establishment has also become known to Sydney paparazzi, who are often seen waiting at the front of the venue.
Caroline hosted her reception in the private dining room, which also recently hosted Kourtney Kardashian and her children.
The radiant bride and groom tied the knot outdoors overlooking the beach and posed for photographs in the afternoon sun with their guests.
Alyce Tran, founder of The Daily Edited and dear sister of the bride, was the only guest wearing anything resembling white.

Sydney’s richest families gathered at a celebrity hotspot in Coogee on Thursday.
The couple were lucky not to celebrate their vows on the same Coogee beach after hundreds of mysterious black tar balls started appearing just days before their big day.
A group of flower girls were dressed by La Coqueta Kids, the same children’s designer brand that Rebel Wilson wore for her own wedding.
The trio, who posed for photos together during the special event, are part of an elite clique of heirs and heiresses from Sydney, and their spouses (who are usually also heirs and heiresses) from the other mega-rich dynasty families.
At the center of their network are the O’Neils.
Deb is the eldest daughter of ‘Aussie John’ Symond, one of Australia’s richest men, with a reported net worth of $780 million.
The cheerful blonde married her prince charming, Ned, son of wealthy real estate magnate and yachtsman Denis O’Neil.
“Such a special day to celebrate beautiful friends,” she captioned a carousel of wedding photos.

Poppy, owner of Poco Designs, is one of the most sought-after interior designers in the eastern suburbs.
The clique wouldn’t be complete without Hamilton Island brand manager Nicky Oatley, whose family also owns the $200 million slice of Queensland paradise.
Dom Pérignon’s silver platters must have been flowing because Deb’s husband, Ned, was later photographed receiving a kiss and hug from fashion designer Michael Lo Sordo.
“I can’t kill ostrich feathers,” Lo Sordo said as he got into a taxi to the event site.
It appears he was also the celebrant at the couple’s marriage.
“Bringing the drama,” Bondi Pilates queens Bernadette Fahey laughed in a video posted to their Instagram Stories.

The Body by Berner founder wore a butter yellow strapless dress and posed for photos with her friend Kristina Macourt and Four Seasons Condoms heir Michael Porter.
This was a true society wedding in every sense, and high-profile attendees took to social media on Friday to share every intimate and lavish detail with their followers.
While their parents may have carefully protected their privacy, this generation’s love of Instagram and glitzy weddings continues to shed light on the network of families that make up the Forbes Rich List.
It was a fortunate feat, just two days after the beaches between Bondi and Botany Bay were intermittently closed to the public due to the mysterious arrival of hundreds of black tar balls.
The “unusual” spheres were first discovered along Coogee Beach on Tuesday, prompting Randwick Council to immediately close the beach while testing was carried out.
Gordons Bay, Clovelly Beach and Maroubra Beach have also been closed to the public since then after the balls also appeared along their coastline.
UNSW chemist Alex Donald has confirmed that the tar balls originated from eroded oil.
“It is not yet clear whether they were due to a natural leak or a crude oil spill,” he said Friday.
