A police strike force targeting the distribution of illegal drugs has dismantled open dial-up schemes for distributors.

More than 100 suspected drug dealers have been arrested in a statewide sting operation, and cars, cash and drugs have been seized.

Between November 22 and December 7, New South Wales Police arrested and charged 108 people as part of a strike force aimed at dismantling open trafficking schemes involving primarily cocaine.

Of those, 64 were charged with supplying a prohibited drug, 44 were charged with drug possession offenses and one person was also charged with domestic violence-related offences.

More than $20,000 worth of drugs were seized, including 560 grams of cocaine, 78 MDMA capsules, weed, ketamine and ice.

Nearly $99,000 in cash and several cars were also seized.

NSW Police Deputy Commissioner Peter McKenna said operations targeting the distribution of illegal drugs in the Sydney area will continue.

“Whether they are large drug suppliers, mid-level or street level, I will continue to commit resources to disrupting their operations and prosecuting them for their true criminality,” he said.
