The incident occurred early on Monday morning at the intersection of Kindelan Road and Gibbon Road, Winston Hills in western Sydney.

Police said the driver accepted a booking from two men at an address in Box Hill at around 12.35am.

The men directed the driver to various locations, including a service station on Penure Street, Rouse Hill, at 1.05am, where they bought food before returning to the vehicle.

The driver was instructed to attend further directions and, when at the intersection of Kindelan Road and Gibbon Road, was assaulted by the men.

Police said the driver ran from the vehicle and sought help from a nearby resident who contacted Triple Zero.

The men then drove from the location in the rideshare vehicle: a white 2018 VW Tiguan.

Paramedics treated the rideshare driver at the scene before he was taken to Blacktown Hospital in a stable condition with injuries to his head and face.

No arrests have been made yet.

Police are urging anyone who may have information to contact them immediately.
