And some even claimed that the scenes were so gruesome that they actually felt sick to their stomachs while watching them.

“During the final scene of Immaculate, I’m pretty sure a girl in the first few rows of my screening threw up,” another user shared.

A third said: “In the cinema watching Immaculate and the couple in front of us started vomiting.”

‘We’re all watching Immaculate right now and I’m not strong enough for this. “I’m so nauseous, this is too much for me,” reads a fourth tweet. “If you’re even a little squeamish, I don’t recommend this movie at all.”

“Don’t look at Inmaculada,” another person warned. “I had to leave the screening several times.”

“Immaculate’s rosary and nails scene almost made me throw up,” someone else shared.

Another viewer said he was “about to pass out and throw up” at the end of the movie, but added, “I need to watch it again.”

The film follows ‘an American nun’ named Cecilia’ who embarks on a new journey when she joins a remote convent in the Italian countryside.

A reviewer in rotten tomatoes wrote, ‘TO Completely terrifying and original horror film with a jaw-dropping ending, led by a wild and electrifying performance from Sydney Sweeney.

“While it doesn’t break too many new ground in the religious horror subgenre, a powerful performance from Sydney Sweeney and an unforgettable climax make Immaculate worth your time,” said another.

“The filmmaking is flashy and stale, bogged down in tepid scares that often feel hollow,” criticized a third.

A fourth review said: “A script so bereft of detail and payoff that it’s impossible to genuinely spark the conversations you want to have, despite a pretty solid final scene.”

Many devout Christians have criticized the film. One outraged viewer described it as “diabolical, sacrilegious, pure evil and wildly offensive” in X.

However, Neon, the production team behind the horror film, has not shied away from negative reactions, using some of the more negative responses about it as part of its marketing strategy.

The final part of the film seems to get the most attention, as it shows Sydney’s character brutally murdering several people while in labor and drenched in blood.

“I love finding places I didn’t know I could unlock, pushing the boundaries of what people expect to see from me,” the actress explained.

And I allow all of Sydney’s thoughts, feelings and emotions to disappear. And now I am whatever character I play: I am Cecilia at this moment.

‘I don’t like to rehearse; I don’t plan what’s going to happen. What you saw (in the final moments of the film) was the first take.’

And he added: ‘I always want to do something new. I don’t want to do the same thing over and over again.

“It has a lot to do with the appeal and discovery of the character. I love Cecilia’s journey and I loved the emotional trauma she goes through.

‘And being in the horror genre is fun, because in that genre there are no limitations or borders.

“I always find it very funny when people analyze the rules of a horror movie or its narrative.

“I said, ‘It’s a horror movie. You’re just having fun.” It’s not an Oscar movie; you know that going into it.

“We want to create something good, but it’s fun to have characters who can go to such extreme and absurd places, and people don’t question it.”
