A football player was tragically killed in a horrific double-fatal accident just before Easter.

Edward ‘Eddie’ Wosomo, from Darwin, died when the van he was traveling in crashed on the Arnhem Highway on March 28.

The 27-year-old’s co-worker Andy Summerfield, former president of the Rebels Northern Territory Bikie gang, also died.

A third 20-year-old man traveling in the vehicle miraculously survived but suffered serious injuries and was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital.

Wosomo, who played rugby league for the NT Indigenous All Stars team, leaves behind teammate Kamika Lee Pollard and their two daughters.

Lee Pollard said the crazy Rabbitohs fan was a fun and loving husband who loved his two daughters.

“Edward lived life to the fullest,” he said. New Testament News.

“He had a smile that lit up the room and an infectious laugh.”

‘(He) made friends wherever he went. He welcomed everyone and judged no one.’

Mr. Wosomo worked as a carpenter and loved to go fishing.

“In his spare time he loved drinking a cold beer and eating fish, spending time with his mates and laughing,” Lee Pollard said.

“He enjoyed his work and was always proud to show us what he helped build.”

Wosomo was returning from work on a construction site in Jabiru, a small town just over 100 kilometers east of the Arnhem motorway, when the accident occurred.

Worksafe is carrying out an investigation into the incident.

Lee Pollard uploaded a heartbreaking post to Facebook two days after Wosomo’s death, featuring a photo of her husband and daughter on the beach.

“Forever our man,” wrote Lee Pollard.

A family member said Eddie was the life of the party and would be “missed forever.”

Mr Wosomo’s grieving mother wrote a poem about her son saying he was a “kind soul” who always lent a hand to those in need.

He added that his son was a talented fisherman and also a great cook.
