A trendy restaurant’s plan to deploy robots to order and deliver food is already a big hit with customers and on social media.
Ria Ayam Penyet unveiled her ‘new toy’ to customers at the soon-to-reopen Indonesian restaurant in Parramatta, Sydney’s west.
Adrian Widjonarko was invited to the store’s launch last Saturday and told Daily Mail Australia that the robotic meal service was a huge success.

“I’ve seen another shop in Chatswood (called Haidilao) do it for their customers, it’s the way of the future,” he said.
“Everyone was fascinated to see the robot in action.”
Widjonarko, whose day job is in the pharmaceutical industry, has uploaded a clip of the robot to his TikTok page.
With over 123,000 followers, his keen eye for quality eateries is closely followed by many on social media.
‘The videos are a hobby for me, I love to get out and taste the best food in Sydney,’ he said.
“Being Indonesian myself, I had a soft spot for Ria Ayam Penyet’s menu – and it didn’t disappoint.”
The restaurant on Church Street in Parramatta opens its doors to the public this weekend.
Ria Ayam Penyet also has an eastern Sydney eatery in Randwick and four locations in Melbourne.
