An elite swimming coach has reportedly been caught with more than 100 videos and photos of child sexual abuse.

Mark Sendecky was arrested on March 22 in Erskineville, Sydney’s inner west, after police allegedly found the disturbing footage.

The images were also shared in a Dropbox folder under his name, police said.

He was charged with possessing and controlling child abuse material using a carriage service dating back to November 2019.

The 39-year-old, who is originally from Victoria, did not appear when his case was called in Sydney’s Central Local Court on May 19.

Magistrate Margaret Quinn adjourned the case until June 30. He did not apply for bail and it was formally rejected.

Sendecky’s sister-in-law told the Daily Mail Australia that she knew the case had “something to do with the internet and underage children”.

She said the allegations were “quite disturbing” for her family.

Sendecky worked as a marketing coordinator for a sports management group, but in his spare time he coached swimming at a number of clubs in Victoria and Sydney.

Masters Swimming Victoria confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that he was the director of coaching but said the organization was not aware of the allegations.

He also coached with an LGBT+ swim group called Glammorhead in Victoria from 2015, before joining his sister group, Wett Ones, in Sydney.

Daily Mail Australia contacted Wett Ones for comment but received no response.

Since then, the organization has removed photos of Sendecky from its Facebook page.

A source told Daily Mail Australia that Sendecky was a ‘calm person’ who kept to himself after moving from Melbourne to Sydney three years ago.
