A Queenslander has taken a brutal swipe at Sydney’s cleanliness by calling the streets ‘putrid’ and saying the city looks like ‘a dumping ground’.
The scathing assessment was made by John, a listener to Ben Fordham’s Sydney 2 Go radio show who called out the host for ranting about the state of the port city and some of its inner suburbs.
“We used to live there (Sydney) and the streets were putrid,” John said.
“Darlinghurst, Surry Hills, everything was dirty. The place looked like a dump.

John blamed the feet squarely on Sydney Mayor Clover Moore, who is seeking a record sixth term in office after holding the post since 2004.
Cr Moore announced his intention to run again on Friday.
“I don’t think it would be good for the city if I don’t continue,” she told the Sydney Morning Herald.
However, John was unimpressed.
“I would have to think Clover Moore is a little off, worried that no one else can do the same quality work,” he said.
“I used to live in Sydney and it looked really great, but for Clover Moore to have another run, give him a break.”
