Switzerland has so far rejected requests from several countries to export military material to Ukraine because of the current law.
Today, Thursday, the Security Policy Committee of the Swiss Parliament outlined the course of a possible relaxation of the Swiss arms law related to arms exports, a proposal put forward by a number of deputies.
Parliamentary Committee Chairman Werner Salzmann announced that he supports all similar parliamentary initiatives. Potential amendments must still be approved by the Swiss parliament.
Switzerland has so far rejected requests from several countries centering on the export of military material to Ukraine because of the existing law.
“The issue of exporting Swiss military materials to Ukraine has been intensively discussed in Parliament for some time and is awaiting the next legal proceedings,” Salzmann said.
