Celebrated Australian swimming champion Geoff Huegill made a rare public appearance while enjoying a sunny day at Bondi Beach with his children, Rafe, Gigi and Mila.
The former Olympian, known for his notable career in butterfly events, looked fit and happy, showing his renewed focus on health and wellness.
The 45-year-old’s public outing follows a significant period of personal transformation, which included overcoming issues with his weight after retiring from professional swimming in 2004.
During his prime in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the man nicknamed ‘Skippy’ claimed two World Championship golds in the 50m butterfly, set multiple world records and won numerous medals at the Commonwealth Games.
He also represented Australia at two Olympic Games, winning a silver and bronze medal in relay events at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
Despite retiring in 2004, Huegill made a stunning comeback in 2010, losing a lot of weight and winning two gold medals at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

Huegill has transformed himself after his highly publicized addiction problems after retiring from the sport.
Huegill has faced challenges beyond the group, including a publicized battle with mental health and substance use.
In 2014, he and his then-wife Sara Hills were charged with drug possession, which he later acknowledged as a turning point.
“Venturing down the path of sobriety was one of the best things I ever did.” Huegill said at the time.
‘Unfortunately, I lost that marriage. There were many other factors that explained why that marriage didn’t work out.
‘I lost sponsors. I lost job opportunities. I was building businesses; I had to close all those businesses,” he said.
“Even though I wasn’t criminally convicted, it was still a death at the hands of the media.”
A life-changing diagnosis of ADHD also helped him better understand himself and his past.
Speaking about her diagnosis, she said: “The wave of emotions I had to go through after the diagnosis… is definitely one of the best decisions I’ve made in my entire life.”

Huegill now lives in Singapore and is not seen in public very often, but he was happy to mingle with the crowd with his children in the summer sun.

After starring at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, Huegill lost weight while struggling with drug problems.

Huegill also participated in the recent Oceanman Phuket open water swimming event in Thailand.
Huegill, who now lives in Singapore with his partner, lawyer Roxy Toll, continues to enjoy a full life.
His dedication to health has been evident in recent years, especially when he participated in the Oceanman Phuket open water swimming event in Thailand.
This world-class competition, set against the stunning backdrop of the Andaman Sea, challenges swimmers with various race categories including Oceanman distance, Half Oceanman, Sprint and relay options.
Huegill shared his excitement about the event on Instagram, saying, “Great team effort over the weekend.”
