The Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Department took x to share a clip of the firefighter, named James.
James decided to make his passing out parade even more memorable by popping the question to his partner Melissa.
The ceremony marked James’ completion of his training course, moving him to a fire station for further on-the-job training.
But to make it even more special, he paused the ceremony to kneel before his bride as the crowd cheered him on.
A shocked Melissa covered her eyes in utter shock, before quickly nodding and admiring her new engagement ring.

The Manchester-based fire department wrote on X: “We managed to capture a very special moment at our new recruits’ passing out parade today.”
They added: ‘Congratulations to James and Melissa! Without a doubt, a way to start your new career.
At the start of the video, the newly qualified firefighters were lined up before the event host welcomed James to step forward.
He bravely approached his wife in front of his colleagues and reached into his pocket, pulling out a red box.
James pulled out a ring and knelt in front of his partner and their young son.
In complete shock, Melissa covered her eyes in disbelief before a huge smile covered her face and she nodded profusely.
The event’s speaker commented, “I think it was a yes all,” and the crowd applauded following the exciting news.
The happy couple kissed while the pleased crowd applauded the new engagement.

When the gentleman reaches into his pocket, the young woman bursts into hysterics and gasps while doing a double take at her boyfriend.
Unable to contain an eruption of joy and shock, the woman jumps in a circular motion and dances on the spot while screaming, while her boyfriend watches in a fit of laughter.
He then excitedly runs around the sand and pauses towards the sea, before returning to his companion.
The woman comically composes herself, adopts a more formal posture, and listens attentively as her boyfriend repeats the question.
Throwing her arms in the air and smiling from ear to ear, the young woman nods her head and wraps herself around her now fiancé, who hugs her tightly.
