It is currently unclear how long the man’s body remained there.

Western Australian police are treating the man’s death as suspicious.

The man owned a unit less than 100 metres from where her body was found, according to a shocked neighbour.

Officers were seen guarding a unit in the complex late Thursday night while detectives searched neighboring backyards.

Other residents were equally alarmed.

“It’s terrible to hear that something like this happened near where we were walking with our children,” one woman told Nine News.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers.

A resident came across the gruesome discovery around 11 a.m. Thursday.
