Survivors of New Zealand’s White Island Volcano Eruption Will Testify

24 Australians were among 47 tourists on New Zealand’s White Island when it erupted.

THE DEAD:

Martin Berend Hollander, 48, from Sydney.

Their two sons, 16-year-old Berend and 13-year-old Matthew, who were attending Sydney’s Knox Grammar, died in hospital after sustaining serious injuries in the blast.

According to his Linkedin profile, Mr. Hollander works at Transport for NSW as a manager of freight initiatives.

He is also a director of a Singapore investment management firm, Wipunen Incrementum Capital.

The bodies of Mr. Hollander and Mrs. Hollander were later recovered from the island.

Gavin Dallow, 53, and stepdaughter Zoe Hosking, 15, from Adelaide

The Hosking/Dallow family was on tour at the time of the eruption. Mom Lisa Dallow is among the injured at the hospital. Her 53-year-old husband Gavin (right) and her 15-year-old daughter Zoe, from Adelaide, (left) were confirmed dead.

Mr. Dallow’s body was identified by police among five bodies recovered from the island. Zoe was later formally identified as a victim.

Karla Mathews, 32, and Richard Elzer, 32, of Coffs Harbour, NSW

The couple were identified as the tourists still on the island and were therefore presumed dead by their families.

Jason Griffiths, 33, Coffs Harbour, New South Wales

Jason Griffiths, 33, of Coffs Harbor, was taken to hospital in critical condition but died of his injuries on Wednesday.

He had been on a volcano tour with couple Karla Mathews, 32, and Richard Elzer, 32, who are now presumed dead, friends said.

Knox Grammar school brothers Matthew, 13, and Berend, 16, Hollander.

They died in two New Zealand hospitals after escaping the island with horrific burns.

His father Martin and mother Barbara were confirmed dead.

Ms. Browitt was on the Ovation of the Seas cruise ship for her 21st birthday with her family.

Browitt died on January 13 at the hospital.

His mother, Marie, escaped death by staying on the cruise ship.

Anthony Langford, 51, and his wife Kristine Langford, 45, from Sydney

Kristine Langford, 45, from Sydney, is also among the dead.

The couple’s son, Jesse, 19, survived the volcano eruption and is recovering in hospital with burns over 90 percent of his body.

Langford worked for Sydney Water.

Police said Winona Lanford (pictured in the back center row between her parents, Anthony and Kristine) was one of the missing bodies still on White Island.  She does not believe that she has survived.

New Zealand police said one of the bodies still missing from White Island belonged to Winona Langford, 17, from Sydney.

Winona’s mother and father have been confirmed dead.

His body is entombed on the deadly volcano island or is in the sea.

THE WOUNDED:

He was in an induced coma at Hamilton Hospital, with 57 percent of his body burned.
