Suri, the only child of Katie, 45, and Tom, 61, is now called Suri Noelle, a nickname she saw when she graduated from high school last week.

Noelle is Dawson’s Creek star Katie’s middle name, demonstrating Suri’s solidarity with her mother.

Suri also went by Suri Noelle when she played Morticia Addams in her school’s production of The Addams Family: A New Musical in December.

A source said Page six:’She’s praising her mother by using her middle name’ while speculating that Suri made the change because ‘she wants her own identity.’

Suri is expected to attend Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh this fall.

Suri’s high school is LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, often referred to simply as LaGuardia, which is a public high school that specializes in teaching visual arts and performing arts.

Suri, whose famous father was not involved in her upbringing, has always been determined to forge her own path.

She applied to a number of universities and the artistic teenager was “leaning” towards studying fashion.

Carnegie Mellon School of Design is one of the oldest and highest-ranked programs in the country.

Now, with her acceptance into its hallowed halls, a remarkably stylish mother, and a wardrobe said to be worth $5 million, Suri is off to the best possible start if that’s her chosen path.

A source told DailyMail.com: ‘She is a smart girl and is developing into a very intelligent mature young woman. She has a very close group of loyal friends and knows exactly where she is coming from.

But while Holmes will surely be proud of her daughter’s stellar accomplishments, sources say she’s “overwhelmed” by the thought of sending her little one to college.

One of them recently told DailyMail.com: “Katie is very proud of her, but she is also extremely overprotective.”

Perhaps not surprising given that, for the past 11 years, Holmes has effectively raised Suri alone.

Cruise, 61,’s only contribution to his daughter’s life has been financial and he has not been seen with his daughter since 2013, after Holmes renounced both the marriage and the Church of Scientology, the religion to which that Cruise is so devoted. .

Under the divorce settlement, Cruise agreed to pay Holmes $400,000 a year until Suri turned 18 and will also continue to pay her college fees.

Under the terms of your agreement, although you may be physically absent from your daughter’s life, you have and will continue to cover “medical, dental, insurance, educational, college, and other extracurricular costs.”

But despite having little to no relationship with her father, Suri is, according to sources, a happy, well-adjusted teenager who has loved growing up in New York City.

Katie and Tom married in a Scientologist ceremony in Italy in 2006, when the Dawson’s Creek actress was 27 and the Mission: Impossible star was 44.

However, during the six years they were married, sources close to Katie suggested she became increasingly intimidated by the church, in which Tom remains a powerful figure today.

When the couple split in 2012, it was reported that Katie had decided to end the couple’s marriage for fear of raising her daughter as a Scientologist, a religion to which Tom is incredibly dedicated.

Their decision to abandon religion, as well as marriage, caused a major rift between the former spouses.

Tom and Suri’s relationship becomes increasingly distant as the years go by.

MailOnline revealed in 2016 that Katie feared losing Suri to Scientology, after seeing how Tom’s first wife, Nicole Kidman, became distant from the children she adopted with him, Bella and Connor, when they remained inside the church after they she left.

The final straw for Katie reportedly came when members of the Church of Scientology moved into the couple’s home.

Ron Miscavige, the father of Scientology leader David, who renounced the religion, told DailyMail.com there is a “toxic” policy of “disconnection” operating within the church, something Katie feared was being implemented to keep her away from her daughter.

Speaking to the website in 2016, five years before he died, Ron (who was separated from David) explained that the disconnection policy sees Scientologists cut off contact with any family member who leaves the church.

He claimed that it happened to him, not only with his son David, but also with his two daughters, Denise and Lori.

He claimed Church staff members, known as Sea Org, moved in with Cruise and Holmes.

The move was to ensure that the organization’s most valuable celebrity was being properly cared for.

“That didn’t sit well with Katie, of course, and it damaged the marriage,” he said. “She and Tom had big differences about the way life should be lived.”

She added that Katie was worried about the prospect of raising Suri in the church.

Although breaking free from the Church and divorcing its most influential member was risky business, Katie Holmes had a secret weapon: her divorced lawyer father, Martin Holmes.

People magazine reported that Katie turned to Martin for advice before making any decision to separate from Tom and that he “helped orchestrate his daughter’s sudden separation” from the actor.

“Marty is very rigid: it’s his way or the highway,” a Toledo attorney who worked with Martin told the magazine.

“Marty believes there are only two sets of rules: the court’s rules and his rules, and he behaves that way.”

Katie was granted sole custody of her daughter, while Tom was allowed “significant” visitation rights.

However, Tom has not been seen in public with his daughter for around a decade, and sources have claimed that he now has little involvement in her life.

The Top Gun actor’s last photo with his daughter was from a trip to Disneyland in 2012, the year his divorce from Katie was finalized.

That same year, it was reported that the Hollywood titan had not seen his daughter for more than 100 days, between a holiday they took in August and Thanksgiving in November.
