Married At First Sight star Sebastian Guilhaus has lost his bid to volunteer with recovering addicts after being turned down by the South Australian Supreme Court.
The 36-year-old reality star, who is set to stand trial in October for trafficking a commercial quantity of a controlled drug, has appealed against the District Court’s original decision not to allow him to serve as a “role model” at the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
However, SCSA Judge Anne Bampton on Wednesday questioned whether his “cautionary tale” would be of value to Narcotics Anonymous participants.
Brampton also questioned whether Guilhaus’ request to further relax his strict bail conditions on home detention was the right thing to do.
“I’ve never seen a home detention bond granted to a hotel in an apartment building, with access to their gym, like this deal,” Brampton told him.
“This is a settlement that stands out from many others, indeed from most that I have seen during my time sitting in criminal courts.”
Brampton added that Guilhaus’ bail conditions were more “flexible” than most and that he would not grant his offer.
In May, it was reported that Guilhaus would go on trial to fight a serious drug trafficking charge.

Guilhaus, who starred in the seventh season of the popular Channel 9 dating show, pleaded not guilty to trafficking a commercial quantity of a controlled drug in the South Australian District Court.
Standing in the dock before Judge Paul Muscat, Guilhaus said “not guilty” under his breath after the charges were read to him.
The charges stem from a police raid on Guilhaus’s Croydon home in July last year, during which officers allegedly seized around 1kg of methamphetamine with a street value of about $90,000.

The 2020 season listed him as a “personal trainer” and his profile labeled him as “eccentric and silly.”
“His nature contrasts with his appearance (1.98 m and an athletic and statuesque physique) and he fears that, although women like his appearance, they do not accept what is inside him,” the profile states.
He was paired with girlfriend Lizzie Sobinoff, but the couple split in 2021. After his stint on MAFS, Guilhaus turned to creating adult content.
