Gerrity’s Supermarket in Luzerne County said the woman coughed on Wednesday afternoon about the store’s fresh produce, as well as a portion of their bakery, meat case, and other groceries.

The woman entered the store on Wednesday afternoon at around 2:20 PM before she performed the apparent joke. As soon as the supermarket workers noticed what the woman was doing, they quickly escorted her out of the store and contacted the police.

The co-owner of the supermarket said he “had little doubt” that the woman was doing it as a “very twisted joke” but decided to throw out the affected food and disinfect the shelves because of concerns about the health of the other customers.

“While there is little doubt that this woman did it as a very crazy joke, we will not take any chances with the health and well-being of our customers,” said co-owner Joe Fasula.

“We had no choice but to throw away all the products she came into contact with. Working closely with the Hanover Township health inspector, we identified each area where she was located, discarded the product, and thoroughly cleaned and disinfected everything. ‘

According to Mr. Fasula, the woman is known to the police as a “chronic problem” for the community.

The incident has since been reported to the public prosecutor, who plans to sue the woman in question.

The police will also test her for coronavirus, although Mr. Fasula does not believe she has the disease.

“The only silver lining to this cross-dressing is that it gave us the unfortunate opportunity to test our protocols and show how seriously we take your safety. At one point, we had more than 15 workers in the disposal and clearance, ”added the supermarket owner.

It is not the first time that supermarkets have suffered from sick coronavirus pranksters. A Missouri man was filmed earlier this week licking bottles on a supermarket shelf.

The disgusting clip saw the man say “who is afraid of coronavirus?” Before walking the plank with his tongue.
