‘I always ask them about their upbringing’ [when he interviews them on-air]† Their relationship with siblings, their father and mother, what they did together as a family,” he explains how it helps him “better in control of the guest.”

He described family as “the great human leveler” and added that it doesn’t matter if you’re “18 or 80” because you’re a “product of your upbringing and you never lose it.”

He cited the example of British singer Charli XCX, who told him to call her mother to let her know that her new album artwork showed her naked.

Instead, she started saying, “I can.”

Turia recently shared her top tips for staying motivated.

“I like to think of my energy and attention as a torch, and a torch only shines in one direction. So, when I was scared, overwhelmed and stressed, where did that torch shine? On me,” she told Daily Mail Australia.

“I had to change my focus. How? I asked myself several questions. I wondered what I could do to give back to my community. I wondered what I could be thankful for. I was wondering what I could do that would be helpful,” Turia continued.

“So if you’re feeling stressed or overwhelmed, my advice is to change your focus. Ask yourself, “How can I be of service to you? How can I do the best work I can do right now? And what can I be thankful for now?”
