Natalie Barr shocked Sunrise viewers on Tuesday morning by revealing that she had recently been diagnosed with skin cancer.
The Channel Seven star, 56, said she visited her dermatologist after discovering a small persistent “pimple” on her nose.
Natalie’s doctor used state-of-the-art ‘Spectra-Scope’ and artificial intelligence devices to inspect the spot and found a cancerous lesion.
“I had a pimple on my nose that wouldn’t go away, and I guess I hadn’t had a skin checkup in a couple of years, so I went to the dermatologist,” she said.
“He said it was skin cancer, that little spot on my nose. The good thing is that I got it very early and there is not much treatment.”

Natalie went on to explain that the spot is so small that she can remove it with two non-invasive treatments.
The TV star’s dermatologist used an artificial intelligence device to detect worrying changes in her skin against a global database.
He then used a laser-induced plasma device called Spectra-Scope to detect cancer cells at the site, before performing a biopsy to confirm it was skin cancer.

Co-host Matt ‘Shirvo’ Shirvington asked Natalie: ‘When you saw that chart and it said it was skin cancer, how nervous were you?’
‘In a way you say: “My God.” “A lot of Australians, millions and millions of us, have skin cancer, but it makes you think,” the breakfast show host responded.
Natalie said she hoped it would serve as a reminder for everyone to check their skin regularly.

It comes after Natalie recently revealed she has been too busy to look after her health and had to set up a home workout station to keep up with her exercise.
He admitted in June that he installed a Your Reformer Pilates bed inside his home so he could sweat whenever he wanted.
“This year has not gone as planned. (in terms of exercise). “I’ve been constantly booking classes and then having to cancel them due to work or life,” he wrote on Instagram.
‘So they brought me the plan. A Pilates reformer in my house! I’m starting slowly.’
