Sunrise host Natalie Barr hints at viewers’ reaction amid her feud with pastor Sam Armytage, as she shares a cryptic post stating: ‘You don’t have to be friends with everyone’

Sunrise presenter Natalie Barr has been embroiled in a feud with Sam Armytage for months after her predecessor shared a tweet claiming she “wanted her job forever.”

And Natalie, 53, hinted on Instagram last week that she was facing a reaction from viewers amid the couple’s public spat, sharing a cryptic post responding to her haters.

Her message read: ‘You don’t have to be friends with everyone. Some people will not like your style. Some people will not like your ambition.

“Some people won’t like your tone. Some people will not appreciate your perspective. That’s okay – stay focused on your goals and the people who love you. That is it.’

Though she didn’t mention Sam, Natalie captioned the image, “I’ll just leave this here for anyone who needs it!” next to the hashtag #BeYourself.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Seven for comment and clarification.

Sam, 44, criticized Natalie on Twitter in June for continuing to talk about her in the press, three months after taking over as anchor of Seven’s breakfast show.

She responded to an interview Natalie had done with The Australian Women’s Weekly, in which she claimed the pair were not friends outside of the workplace.

After brushing aside a question about their rivalry on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, Sam tweeted, “Look, I’m gone. Nat always wanted the job… and she finally got it. She should just go ahead and enjoy it – and forget about me (even though I am unforgettable).’

Sam was co-anchor of Sunrise from June 2013 to March this year, when she stepped down to spend more time with her family.

Natalie, the show’s longtime news anchor, replaced her the week after she left.

Sam’s tweet contradicted Natalie’s own account of her promotion to co-anchor, as she has always said she didn’t want to be a host and was surprised when Seven offered her the job.

It came after Natalie first revealed she was not in a close relationship with Sam, who she replaced as Sunrise anchor on March 15.

When asked about rumors that they were not close, Natalie told The Australian Women’s Weekly that the couple “got along well in the office,” but rarely spoke after the cameras stopped spinning because they didn’t have much in common.

“The truth is we haven’t really seen each other outside the office,” Natalie said.

“We had very different lives, I guess,” the mother of two added. ‘We were in different places. She hung out with her friends and I spent time with my family.
