Google incorrectly states that it was born July 10, 1961 and aged 62, leading other media to report that she was in her 60s.
Chung may play the mother of teenage Steven and Belly on the show, but fans had a hard time believing the young-looking actress was almost an old person.
‘Google is lying about you!! This is so weird, when did 62 become a thing? one person asked.
‘Oh my God! I just Googled you to see your age because I’m nosy and I was *stunned* when it said 62. Then I came here and saw this post,’ someone else shared.
“Thank God for this clarification. My boyfriend and I have been racking our brains the past few days,” another added.
Chung never stated her exact age in the post, but she is 44.

Chung’s age has been the subject of speculation since it was announced that she will be playing Laurel in the teen drama in 2021.

The actress may play the mother of teens Steven and Belly on the show, but fans struggled to believe she was almost a senior citizen and thanked her for clearing up the confusion.
“I hope I stop aging now and look the same at 62!” she joked in the comments.
Chung, a graduate of Stanford University, started out as a stage actress.
She is married to actor Louis Ozawa, 47, and they share two children together.
Chung starred in Grey’s Anatomy, Station 19 and Deadbeat before landing the role of Laurel Park.
“I liked Laurel right away. I find his humor so funny. I think that’s one of the things I share with the character is our similar humor,’ she said Collider to be cast on the show.
“So I was excited about that and had seen the To All the Boys movies. So I already knew Jenny’s work. And I love that she’s obviously an Asian American woman creating Asian American stories.
Chung explained that The Summer I Turned Pretty is “not just about Asian American identity,” saying she “didn’t have a show like this” when she was growing up.
“I didn’t have a Belly to connect to and say, ‘Oh, my stories matter too. Or, “I could be on that screen like that too,” she said. “I’m really grateful and happy to be on the show.”
