Just weeks after the explosive Summer House Season 8 finale, which showed Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard’s relationship deteriorating, it’s been revealed that the exes will be returning for Season 9.

Production on Season 9 is set to begin over the Fourth of July holiday weekend in Water Mill, New York, and Variety has confirmed the return of Radke, 39, and Hubbard, 37.

Both Radke and Hubbard are two of only three cast members who were main cast members for all nine seasons, along with Kyle Cooke, and the failed engagement didn’t stop that streak from continuing.

They began dating in early 2022, and Radke proposed on camera during the show’s seventh season later that year.

They were scheduled to marry in Mexico last November, though it was widely reported last August that the couple had split and that the breakup was filmed during production of season 8.

The couple’s constant bickering was caught on camera, with Hubbard even questioning whether Radke was sober anymore, after he quit drinking in 2021.

Carl slammed Lindsay’s demeaning comments towards him, adding that he thought she was “encouraging” him to relapse and fall off the wagon.

Hubbard spoke about the relationship in a late May interview with Glamor where he said he felt like he had dodged a “huge bullet.”

“I really feel grateful that the universe, or God, or whatever higher being you believe in, stepped in and saved me from a very long, hard, difficult life that was ahead of me. And because of that, I learned a lot from a very traumatic experience and I feel like I learned a lot about what I’m not going to do in the future, especially in my romantic life,” she said.

She even admitted that she wasn’t “nervous” about filming with Carl, adding: “It’s been almost a year since we broke up and I’ve healed a lot. I’m still healing in different ways, of course, but I’m very happy not to be in that.”

She added that she would be on Summer House “until I was 100,” adding, “Despite all the challenges my ex and I had last summer, it was really a fun summer.”

“I had a great time with the girls and that makes me excited for next summer as well, because I still have a great relationship with all of them and with the new guys, West and Jesse. I think there was a really good dynamic throughout the cast,” she said.

Radke joined at the end of May. New York Times Interview in which he said that he was “not proud of how I was handling the situation and how I was treating her.”

“I mean, I was clearly frustrated and, you know, I wish I had been more direct,” he added.

Radke went on to say that during that exchange, viewers “can clearly see (he) struggles to communicate (his) feelings.”

He said it was his fault even though viewers saw him point the finger at his ex-fiancée when they argued during episodes of season eight.

“That’s not her fault,” he said before the meeting. “It’s my fault.”

“I find myself blaming myself and playing the victim, and I don’t want to be either,” she continued.

Throughout the season eight episodes, viewers watched the rift in their relationship grow before they announced that they had called off their engagement in August 2023, just two and a half months before their wedding.
