Two self-confessed skincare addicts and best friends have shared why their hugely popular Jet Lag Mask has so many fans around the world and how they manage their multi-million dollar brand as well as being ‘influencers’.

Marianna Hewitt, 35, and Lauren Ireland, 34, had the idea of summer friday after trying hundreds of beauty products during their work as full-time influencers on Instagram, launching with the iconic Jet Lag Mask in 2018.

It sold out within weeks of its launch, inspiring women to use their community as a focus group to create more powerful products like CC Me Serum, Dream Oasis Hydration Serum, and Lip Butter Balm.

“We are longtime influencers and self-proclaimed product junkies,” the businesswoman told FEMAIL.

‘Our communities served as a focus group, as we received a lot of feedback on what they wanted in their skincare products, from ingredients to efficacy, sustainability and packaging.

“Our goal was to create a skincare line with good-for-you ingredients and a brand story that really resonated with us.”

‘On average, a Jet Lag mask is sold every two minutes. We know people love it for many reasons: it’s easy to integrate into your routine, it doesn’t need to be rinsed, it’s incredibly versatile, and it really works to hydrate thirsty skin,” they said.

‘And of course there are always emails and zooms that we keep up with! We’ve built a really amazing team now, which allows us to really focus on our strengths within our company.

“On alternate days, we work on creating content, both for Summer Fridays and for other brands we may be working with at the time.”
