The Sugababes’ have topped the charts and made headlines for their reported feuds within the group and several line-up changes.

And now original trio Mutya Buena, 38, Kiesha Buchanan, 39, and Siobhan Donaghy, 39, who have returned to tour in 2022, are said to have been left furious as former members plan rival gigs using the group’s name.

Heidi Range, 40, who was a member of the band between 2001 and 2011, is said to be in dialogue with Amelle Berrabah, 39, who was also in the queue between 2005 and 2011.

A source said The sun: ‘Heidi and Amelle have been approached about doing a tour as alternative Sugababes and their first call would be fellow former member Jade Ewen.

‘There is a huge appetite for the Noughties and Heidi and Amelle can offer fans something very different to the original line-up’.

‘The original trio are furious that the others will try to use the name as they feel it is theirs.’

MailOnline has contacted Heidi and Amelle and the Sugababes’ representatives for comment.

The Sugababes shot onto the charts back in 2000 with their debut single Overload and went on to enjoy a string of hits including About You Now, Freak Like Me and Push The Button.

But it wasn’t always plain sailing, and the group was known for their fall struggles, which led to the line-up changing three times before returning to the original triangle in 2012.

Siobhan left in 2001 and was replaced by Heidi, Mutya left in 2005 and was replaced by Amelle and Keisha was replaced by Jade when she left in 2009.

The replacement members stopped making music in 2011.

The band reformed in 2012 with their original line-up, under the name Mutya Keisha Siobhan, when the Sugababes were still owned by their former label, they won the rights to the name back in 2019.

It comes after Mutya apparently hit back at former bandmate Heidi and her mother after they lashed out at the group last month.

The group, which now consists of Mutya, Siobhán and Keisha, won the Impact MOBO Award last week – and it seems to have bothered Heidi and her mum.

As the trio collected their award and gave an acceptance speech, Heidi took to Instagram and proudly posted a selfie directly in front of her Sugababes wall of fame.

She wrote: ‘It’s raining and it’s freezing, but I’m showing the sun. It’s almost the weekend and half term, we have it here! Happy Thursday everyone.’

Meanwhile, Heidi’s mother commented on how ‘proud’ she was of Heidi’s story and criticized the trio for being ‘disrespectful to continue the group without her’.

She wrote: ‘Yes Heidi all the songs you wrote and made hits you can’t rewrite history or facts no matter how much you pretend. So very proud of you mum.’

Heidi’s mother commented how ‘proud’ she was of Heidi’s story, while slamming the trio for being ‘disrespectful to continue the group without her’

She continued: ‘I just can’t believe the horror of it. The Sugarbabes didn’t have a hit until Heidi joined with 6 number 1 singles and multi platinum albums, it’s so fake and disrespectful the way they continue to shame them.’

Furious Mutya apparently hit back at Heidi’s mother’s comments on Sunday, claiming they need to ‘get over it’ and ‘stop putting them down for what they deserve’.

She wrote: ‘I didn’t want to say anything but f*** it I will… now for one I’m not here to hurt feelings but stick it out.

‘When I wasn’t in the group and the girls were doing big things WITHOUT ME, do you think I got upset because I wasn’t mentioned?

‘Soooo let’s just be nice and get over it we all deserve our flowers but it was me, Shiv and Keisha on stage accepting our award at MOBOS and YES WE DESERVED IT.

‘I’m over people putting me and my ladies down.’

MailOnline has contacted both Heidi and the Sugababes’ representatives for comment.
