A source told the publication: ‘SShe spoke to her bosses last summer, shortly after her stint on Sister Act, about her decision to explore new roles, which gave the writers plenty of time to create a solid exit story for her that viewers will love.

The soap’s new boss Kate Brooks shared that the team would be sad if Sue left, as they wished her the best for her next chapter.

She said: ‘I lost 18 pounds (in 2022’s I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here). That year I had already lost a kilo and a half because I gave up alcohol. I did Dry January and then decided to continue.

‘I know it sounds ridiculous at my age, but I never really thought about how many calories I was consuming when I had a glass of red wine while making dinner and then a couple more while eating it.

“If you do that four or five nights a week, that’s a lot of calories.”
