A student was kidnapped and murdered after a convicted rapist posed as a good Samaritan trapped her to accept help with a flat tire, police in Brazil said.
Mariana Bazza & # 39; s body was found dumped on a dirt road in Itápolis on Wednesday, wedged and blindfolded with her hands tied behind her back.
The 19-year-old university student disappeared Tuesday morning after leaving a gym in Bariri, almost 40 miles from the sugar cane farm where her body was found.
CCTV recordings outside the gym showed the suspicious killer approaching her while she was standing next to her car and offering to change the tire on her Volkswagen Gol.
The suspect, identified as the 37-year-old Rodrigo Pereira Alves, is said to have cut the tape and then offered to repair it to appear useful.

Alves was arrested after the security footage outside the gym identified him as the last person to see her alive.
After talking to her, he crosses the road while the physiotherapy student gets into her car and enters a yard on the other side of the dual carriageway.
An hour later the vehicle sees the scene leave. Researchers claim it was powered by the suspect.
He is now accused of her murder after allegedly admitting that he had killed her before indicating where the body was left.
Her crying father said: & My wife is desperate; our life is over. My daughter, my angel has disappeared. (This) has ended our life. & # 39;
In addition to the CCTV recordings, Mariana took a photo of the suspect who knelt beside the car when he changed the flat tire and sent it to relatives and her friend, lieutenant naval officer Jefferson Vianna.
Her friend told the police that Mariana was not afraid when she sent the photo.
& # 39; She just sent it to tell me what had happened, we laughed at the situation and I sent her a picture of me in my uniform white because I knew she liked it. I also told her that I loved her, & he said.

Mariana sent this photo of her alleged murderer who changed her band, initially without concern from her family
The suspected murderer, Rodrigo Pereira Alves (photo), who has a history of violent crime, was arrested after the police saw the CCTV footage of him talking to Mariana
According to a family member, this was the last thing the Mariana family heard.
In the local media the nameless aunt said: & (39) (Mariana) did not answer her phone afterwards. The telephone had no signal. We were immediately desperate with worry. & # 39;
After identifying the suspect based on the images, the police started a seven-hour hunting session including a helicopter investigation.
Alves was eventually found hidden on the roof of a house in Itápolis and Mariana & # 39; s car was discovered in the same area.
Chief Inspector Durval Izar Neto told FocusOn News: & Mariana and a friend left the gym around 8 am yesterday. Her colleague told us that she had taken her motorcycle and left for work.
& # 39; It appears that Mariana only afterwards noticed that one of her car tires was flat. In this context, a man approached her offer to help change it.
& # 39; Images on the security circuit show that Mariana gets into her car, drives to the yard, and the suspect would leave the vehicle an hour later. & # 39;
Neto continued: & # 39; We were allowed to break the secret of (Alves) cell phone and discovered that he was in his family's home in Itápolis.
& # 39; He fled when officers arrived. But after searching the area we found it hidden on the roof of a nearby house. & # 39;

Forensics discovered traces of sugar cane in the vehicle, suggesting it was driving around in a rural area.
They also brought a knife from under the seat, but this is not supposed to have been used in crime. Brands in the car indicated that there was fighting, but no clear traces of blood and hair, possibly from the victim, were being collected.
An autopsy is expected to determine the cause of death and whether the teenager has suffered sexual violence.
The police have revealed that Alves is a convicted criminal with a violent record. He spent 12 years behind bars for kidnapping, rape, attempted murder, theft, extortion, and was released from prison just over a month ago.
The owner of the small garden where the tire was repaired told investigators that the suspect had been hired to paint the house on the land, but admitted that he didn't know much about his background.
Mariana & # 39; s parents, Aírton and Marlene, had to be sedated in the hospital after hearing the death of their daughter.
& # 39; She is an only child. She is the apple of her eye and dedicated to her studies, & said the aunt.
She added that her niece was planning to get closer to her friend's naval base in Santos. The couple had been dating for three years.
The suspect appeared in court on Wednesday and was detained.
